I've been feeding a family of badgers through the years.
Recently my trap cam caught 2 youngsters & the mum coming to the garden.
I braved the freezing night air to stand and watch last night, It was so amazing to see, only one turned up but I'll try again tonight, hopefully it'll be a full turn out

Last night, a friend organised a nighttime bike ride on the ice road to the neighbouring village of Dettah. It's about 6.5km across the frozen bay. It was quite slippery on the glare ice, even with studded tires, so we went at a leisurely pace and chatted away. When we got to Dettah, as if on cue, the #aurora erupted into a dancing, swirling riot of colour. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen, which I hope comes across in these low res. photos. We stood enrapt in our bike helmets, or lay back on the ice to save our craning necks until it settled down into a placid glow in the distance before biking back to town.

I'm still walking about 10km/day, which I'm hoping to increase with the nicer weather. Pulling that off in the winter months in boots has been hard, so hard (i.e. painful) that I'm considering finding a good pair of cold weather running shoes for next winter. Pointers appreciated! #winter #running
