Went to the Botanical Gardens today, spring is very much evident

Macro photo of white blossom and leaves ready to unfurl on a pear tree, behind an orchard is visible but out of focus.

Looking up at the branches of a tree, it has spiky red and yellow leaves, two branches in the foreground are in focus, those behind are fuzzy. The effect almost looks like fire against the azure blue sky. The tree is a Koelreuteria paniculata from China.

A ball of light pink blossom from a rhododendron bush, red stems are visible in the middle.

A small dark branch diagonally across the photo, with three backlit acid green leaves, their veins picked out by the sun, behind are a few more small leaves and the shape or a large round tree against the blue sky.

This deep blue sky has a wonderful colour but is a sign that the night will be frosty with minus degrees. After more than +20°C, we had a sudden temperature drop last evening. Today only 9°C with a strong and icy NE wind.
I love that time when the edges of the forests and the orchards explose in green, white and rose. The green of April is the most beautiful one!

A vast meadow, still mostly green, with view into the distance and of a flawless blue sky from a meadow. To the left, roughly in the middle ground and in the distance on a flat hill, the edges of the forest begin to green and blossom: bird cherries, blackthorns, wild plums. This is also where it first turns lush green. But a very light veil of green can already be seen on the tops of the forest in the distance.

One of my favourite times of the year: when the trees start to turn green and everything is in bloom at the edge of the forest and in the Streuobst-Wiesen.
